Sustainable Development Goals
The "Transformation of Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", consisting of 17 goals and 169 targets that drive the creation of a significant opportunity for human development over the next 15 years and guarantee the sustainability of global development, protecting our planet was approved by the UN General Assembly Resolution of 2015. The 17 global goals and targets defined by the 2030 Agenda include collective actions that the international community considers necessary to achieve sustainable development. Sustainability is one of our core values, and it is clear that “MKT IK” LLC cannot implement each of the 17 SDGs. “MKT IK” LLC intends to contribute to this important agenda by adopting the following SDGs:
Prime Cotton remains committed to the regulation of the minimum wage by the Government of Azerbaijan. We do our best to create an environment in which our employees enjoy their work and all their labor rights are respected. In accordance with the internal policy and legislation of our company, we try not to allow any discrimination in the work environment.
Protecting and developing infrastructure, and investing in entrepreneurship and innovation is one of our top priorities. At 6 Innovative Farms located in different regions, we test different types of seeds, chemicals, and technologies, and by studying the results of tests, we work on a wider application of innovations.
We consider the 'Responsible Consumption and Production' Sustainable Development Goal to be one of our key principles. We operate in accordance with the rules of sustainable consumption and production. The Company's procurement activities are regulated by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the company's internal procurement procedures and charters.
Prime Cotton is constantly researching and applying new planting technologies to increase the productivity of arable lands. Proper irrigation methods, pest control and, most importantly, crop rotation are priorities in this regard.
Prime Cotton has been a member of ICA since 2003, and of the Azerbaijan Cotton Producers Association since 2021.
