On August 10, 2022, "MKT Production Commercial" LLC held an "Open Field Day" event at the company's Yevlax Innovation Farm with the participation of farmers, agronomists and foreign guests from different regions of our country. The event consisted of two parts and took place with the participation of more than 150 farmers and representatives of foreign companies.
Within the framework of the event, the guests got acquainted with more than 15 varieties of cotton belonging to Pakistan, Turkey, Israel, and Greece, which were cultivated in Yevlax Innovation Farm of "MKT IK" LLC with the aim of being suitable for the local climatic conditions of Azerbaijan. In addition, the participating farmers and agronomists took part in an evaluation survey on cultivated varieties and shared their opinions about the varieties they observed.
At the event, for the first time in the history of Azerbaijan's cotton cultivation, the cultivation phase of cotton varieties belonging to Israeli breeders was demonstrated. The breeder's technical indicators of this cultivated cotton variety coincide with the indicators of the barbadense type and are sold at a higher price in the world market. Dr. Yechiel Tal, one of the co-authors of this cotton variety, also participated in the event and answered the farmers' questions on the spot.
The second part of the event started with the presentation of the "MKT Cotton" mobile application presented by "MKT IK" LLC for farmers, followed by representatives of foreign companies with significant experience in the field of cotton - "ProGen Tohum", "May Tohum", "Ceyhan Tohum", "Segula". Agro", "Hekagro" and "Sakhalinski" Kalium Gumat company's local representatives made a speech and answered the questions of the participants of the event.
The purpose of the "Open Field Day" event is to develop relations and strengthen the dialogue between farmers and companies that provide services such as spraying and irrigation, as well as to inform farmers about the results of cotton trial planting conducted at the innovation farms of "MKT IK" LLC. The development of the cotton sector in general, by introducing it, serves to increase the yield per quintal per hectare.
As a result of the company's cooperation with farmers over the years, following the correct plant care procedures, applying drip and pivot irrigation systems, "MKT IK" LLC became the export leader in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan for all months of 2021 and 7 months of 2022, made great contributions to the development of cotton cultivation in our country and achieved important successes.
